Daylight Saving Time (not Savings yep it's new to me too!) can be a difficult adjustment for many of us. The loss of an hour of sleep and changes to our daily routines can leave us feeling groggy, disoriented, and out of sync for several days. But with a little preparation and some simple tips, you can make the transition to Daylight Saving Time much smoother and get back on track in no time.

Spring Forward Like a Champ!

Gradually adjust your sleep schedule. One of the most effective ways to prepare for Daylight Saving Time is to gradually adjust your sleep schedule in the days leading up to the time change. This can help you avoid the shock of losing an hour of sleep and make it easier to get back into your regular routine. Try going to bed and waking up 15 minutes earlier each day until you reach the new time.
Get plenty of sleep: Getting enough sleep is crucial to surviving Daylight Saving Time. Aim to get 7-9 hours of sleep each night, and try to stick to a consistent sleep schedule as much as possible. This will help you feel more refreshed and energized during the day, making it easier to adjust to the time change.
Limit caffeine and alcohol: Caffeine and alcohol can interfere with sleep and make it more difficult to adjust to Daylight Saving Time. Try to limit your intake of these substances in the days leading up to the time change, and avoid them in the evenings so that you can get a good night's sleep.
Stay active and exercise: Physical activity and exercise can help regulate your sleep and keep your energy levels up during the day. Try to get in some physical activity each day, whether it's a morning jog, an after-work workout, or simply taking a walk around the block.
Be mindful of your diet: Eating a healthy and balanced diet can also help you feel more energized and better equipped to handle the challenges of Daylight Saving Time. Focus on eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains, and try to limit your intake of sugary and processed foods.
Get outside and soak up the sun: Exposure to natural light can help regulate your circadian rhythm and make it easier to adjust to Daylight Saving Time. Make sure to get outside during the day and soak up some sun, especially in the morning when your body needs it most.
Avoid screens before bedtime:The blue light from screens can interfere with sleep and make it more difficult to fall asleep at night. To help prepare for Daylight Saving Time, try to avoid screens for at least an hour before bedtime, and make sure your bedroom is dark, quiet, and cool.
Practice stress-reducing techniques: Stress can interfere with sleep and make it more difficult to adjust to Daylight Saving Time. To help reduce stress, try practicing stress-reducing techniques such as meditation, yoga, deep breathing, or progressive muscle relaxation.

It is possible!

Surviving Daylight Saving Time can be a challenge, but with a little preparation and these simple tips, you can get back on track and make the transition much smoother. By taking care of your sleep, diet, and overall health, you can help ensure that you feel refreshed and energized during the day, making it easier to adjust to the time change and enjoy all the opportunities that the new season has to offer.

Letting Go of Things that Don's Serve You.

Like Daylight Saving Time Your Traditional Rugs Are Probably Not Serving You As Well As They Once Did.
Traditional and heirloom rugs require specialty cleaning and care that many of us don't have the time or energy for. It's also harder every year to find people that have the skills necessary to keep our older rugs clean and in good condition.
Washable rugs were a great step-up from traditional fiber rugs, but you still have to move all your furniture and be able to fit your rug in the washing machine. Don't you have enough laundry? Unfortunately many washable rugs also curl up on the edges and never lay flat again after being washed.
Wipeable FloorFlats are a great way to have the look and feel of a fiber rug without any of the hassle! No specialty cleaning, no moving furniture, no washing machines and no curling edges. Our Flats are wipeable, waterproof and exactly what you need if you are trying to get rid of things that don't serve you and your home. Many of our designs look so much like fabric that people don't know they are made out of premium vinyl material!
